November Arrives.....................

Wow November is here. It has been a very emotional October. So many things are the same and yet alot has changed.

We spent the weekend in SLC watching Porter and Ben's teams kill the teams they were playing. It was Awesome. Both of them made amazing plays and now it is anticipated that both will be in the finals. We haven't received the official word yet.

Heather (my neice) blessed her little girl and we had stake conference. It was great!!

I love going to church and learning about the Savior and walking away with an even stronger testimony. Ya know the Lord really knew that we would need the constant uplifting experience that weekly church would bring. When I can't attend I really feel it and miss it. I am looking forward to the temple this week as well. We are so blessed to have family and friends.

I was extremely touched to see the ourpouring of love and kindness for Jason and Lynee and family. The neighbors....some they hardly knew....opened up their homes and hearts and did whatever needed to be done to take care of this Awesome family in their time of need. Sadie's death has been an amazing missionary story. She was here for such a short period of time and yet touched so many lives. Ya know it is wonderful to see everyone pull together to support one another. Sadie has it made!! She is now up there cheering us on....now we have to do our part to be with her and our Savior and Heavenly Father again.

We hope that as we enter the Holiday season that we be careful not to rush.... take sometime to look around a little more and see what you can do to help someone!!

We love you all and appreciate all that you do for us.

Take care and know that we love you!!!!

Our Little Sadie..............

This poem was written by a friend of Lynee's.

More to come!!!

Our Fathers’ Hands

A gift we received on a cold winter day,
Two precious baby girls were coming to stay.
Identical hearts that beat strong as one,
A bond so divine, twill never be done.

Mommy and Daddy, their number one fans.
So recently cradled in our Fathers’ hands.
They’d learn and they’d grow, they’d take their first steps,
In their sweet mothers heart to immeasurable depths.

Bouncing blonde girls, giggles and smiles.
A blessing from heaven, on lone for awhile.
Our sweet baby Sadie, our strong lil’ Capri,
Adorable gems in our family.

Now Heavenly Father has a plan of His own,
Sadie’s sweet time, a test that was done.
So sweet baby Sadie, so precious and sweet.
Now in her glory at her Fathers feet.

The veil now a mirror, one heart on each side
A legacy of love…eternal, divine.
Two warriors of Light to help us each day,
To cheer us, to guide us, to prepare us a way.

One at our side to still hold our hand,
One with her wings, our hearts in her hand.
So this one way mirror, with Sadie and Capri,
Will continue to bless the Fife family.

Now wrapped in His arms and clothed in His glory
She’ll soar to new heights, a star in His story
On Heavenly plains, she’ll take her new stand,
For she’s once again cradled in our Fathers’ hands.

With Love, Mandi Taylor

October cold has arrived!!

October arrived and it let us know that winter is approaching!! It has been beautiful with all the fall colors. I love this time of year. We get our wood burning stove going and get to enjoy the fire!!! Conference was wonderful. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to listen on the internet whenever we want. To think we use to have to wait till it come out in the next ensign. So far so good for Zermatt. We have mixed emotions about the winter. When we get our first snow storm Darin loves it and then by the time we are two weeks into snow he is ready to pack up and move to a warmer place. He has been looking for a bigger snow blower!! Bigger means less work!!! The kids are all doing well. I am homeschooling Phillip for awhile....he has been sick and we are trying to get him better. It has been very interesting. Wow what a 6th grader can teach you. (Out of the mouth of babes!) We hope that you are all well!! Take Care and come and visit us in Midway!!!

Time Goes By!!!

Wow.....it has been sometime since I last make an entry. Due to issues with vacations in the summer at we took an awesome family trip to Yellowstone mid-May. It was so much fun. We have great kids and they got along really well. It is always fun to take the kids and just get away for awhile. We survived the summer and Swiss Days. FUN FUN!! The kids are trying to adjust to being back in school. Haven't quite got the hang of homework yet since school started late this year....due to the fact that we moved into the new High School. It started the same week as Swiss Days. That wasn't what I call good planning but it worked out alright.

Darin is really enjoying his job at Zermatt Resort and Spa. They are doing really well... all things considered. He loves his calling as the Varsity Coach in young mens.

Nancee...I am currently the Scout committee chair and have been informed that I will be in that calling for awhile. I just hit the year mark. It does take a lot to learn and I am still learning. It is fun now that Travis and Ty are in Boy Scouts.

Jenessa is at BYU and loving it. She doesn't want to come home cause there are too many fun activities to take up her time. She has already changed her major at least once.

Larissa (10th) is on the Volleyball team and loves it!! I wish she liked doing her jobs around the house and school 1/2 as much as she likes volleyball.

Travis (8th) is spending his 3rd year in the RMMS (Rocky Mountain Middle School) cause they changed the grades that attend there. All I can say is it is a good thing that our new high school is so big cause Travis and Larissa will both be there next year. Heaven help us!! Travis just completed his Eagle project and now just has to submit his paper work!!!

Ty (7th) is spending his 2nd year at RMMS and will still have one more year there before moving onto the High School. He just purchased his own 22 rifle. Very excited about it. He loves to go shooting with Dad!! Ty already has an Eagle project in mind!!

Phil (6th) is all by himself at the New Timpanogos Intermediate School. (The old Jr. High) He loves his friends and his teachers. He will be joining Ty next year at the RMMS. He is just starting to get into scouts and earning merit badges.

Nate (3rd) is my last in Elementary school. He is not too sure about being there without his brothers. He is adjusting slowly. He is our baby and definitly spoiled!! He just started Cub Scouts. He is very social and wants to play with his friends all he can.

April is almost here!!!

March was just a little busy so I have to say I am so glad that April is almost here. It has been really cold the last few weeks so I am also looking forward to the warm weather and to working out in our yard. Darin is at Zermatt and still really enjoys his job. Jenessa is trunky! If you were a missionary you know that is how some missionaries get when they are getting close to going home. They have their trunks packed! Nessa has her bags packed and in spirit she is down at BYU already. I told her I just hope she can graduate! Larissa is waiting for the paperwork to come through so we can go get her drivers license. I really don't mind if it takes awhile. Travis' voice is squeeking.......that time of life. He is growing and eating like a weed!! Ty, Phil and Nate just live on the computer! If I didn't give them boundries they would stay on morning, noon and night. Forget about school! We have a few birthdays to celebrate this month but we have decided that since Phil's birthday is on April Fools day we don't really have to celebrate it!!! Don't you agree?! I found out that next year Jenessa will be at BYU. Larissa will be a sophmore in High School. Travis and Ty will be in the Middle school, Phil will be in the NEW intermediary school and Nate will be one lonely cowboy in the Midway Elementary school. How to keep track of it all. I need a nap just thinking about it. Better go for now. Nan

Ryah's Adoptions Final

For those of you who know my sister has been trying to adopt this little girl that has been living with them for two years. She is the daughter of Marks brother who is not in a position to take care of her and mom is drugged out on the streets! Very sad situation. Well yesterday it was official. She is ADOPTED!! Her name is Ryah Christen and she is a cute little girl!! Congrats Lisa and Mark!

No Time To BLOG!!

Wow it seems like a crazy world here at the moment. We are all keeping very busy. Darin has a job which is so great at this time! They are actually doing alright at Zermatt! The kids just finished the term and remind me all the time that this is the last term for the year. Jenessa is in New York for a few days. Her theater group went to check out what it is really like to live the life of a "Diva"! She is having a blast!!! Her first comment to me was "Mom the buildings are so big that they put huge shadows on the other buildings!" Country girl in the big city!! Larissa is 16 but doesn't have her drivers license yet. We are waiting on somethings from the online school. She took drivers ed with an online teacher. Travis' voice is changing. I am sure Darins changed but not enough to sound like a man on the phone. Maybe Travis will take after my side of the family?! Ty, Phil and Nathan are waiting and asking daily when the Fife's will be moving to Utah. We have good news. The house is under contract. We anticipate that they will be here within the next 6 weeks!! I think we will be making a few more trips to SLC once they arrive. I have been busy with the "Swiss Miss Pageant". Jenessa and Larissa were Swiss Miss's about 4 years ago. Well now I get to be in charge of the Pageant. We have 9 girls trying out and I can't wait till it is over. It has been a learning experience for sure. I am happy that my girls are not into pageants!! Hope you are all well! We think about you often! Praying for Dad/Grandpa to get better! Looking forward to Dallas' wedding. If you haven't sent him your mailing address please do so ASAP!! dallasheck@yahoo.com. Have a great day. I guess March has decided to go out like a lion. It started snowing last night and we have about 4 inches so far!! LOVE THE HECKELS OF MIDWAY!

Grandma Clunas' Funeral

We left home on Thursday afternoon and arrived in Boise at Eva's house at about 9:00pm. Lynee arrived shortly before us. Then at 11:00 Darin, Tom and Dallas went to the airport to get David. We all got up at 5:30 am and we went to the gym to workout!! We are so good! Then we went home and got ready for our long (laugh till we die) trip to Oregon! We stopped at Multnomah Falls and climbed to the top. They said that it is only one mile but it was one heck of a hike!!! 2nd work out of the day. We arrived at Art and Arlene's house to a very warm greeting from Art, Arlene and Grandma Heckel. They all looked so good!! I am sure grandma was tired when we left.
We had a wonderful dinner and talked all evening. Grandma, Art and Arlene spent the next hour or more just talking about all kinds of things. We learned alot about Grandma and Art and DAD!!! They told us all kinds of stories and we were very blessed to be in their home!! We finally decided that we needed to get to bed. After a wonderful night sleep we had a great breakfast and Carol (Ruth and Richards daughter) ,Marcus and Rabecca (Arts son and his wife) joined us. We could have stayed all day!! It was so much fun seeing all of them especially skinny dad!
Carol, Rebecca, Grandma H, Arlene, Marcus and Art

David, Eva, Darin, Grandma, Art, Nathan, David, Lynee....4 Generations
We then headed to the funeral. We arrived and it was great to see everyone. We saw Jack and Charlotte, Sam and Marilyn, Ben and Donna, Kay and her family, Karen and her family. We met Carols children and I can't believe it has been 14 years since she passed away, but her kids were together for the first time since then. The service was wonderful. Marilyn, Gary and Sam spoke. They also gave an open time for anyone to comment and that was great as well!! After it was nice to visit with everyone and then it was back in the burb for another long drive to Boise! It has been Awesome!!

February is here!

Wow time flies. We have had a busy January. Darin was just called as the Assistant to the Teachers and the Varsity Coach.....Yes the no-scouter Darin. He has been having some good experiences with our boys camping and doing the scout thing. I told him he better get some practice in considering we have 4 boys. He will be busy. (I am so glad that Moms don't go camping with the scouts!!!!!!!!) I help can help out with the cubs and I am currently the Scout Committee Chair. I am learning alot about Boy Scouts as well. A couple of weekends ago the boys and Darin went camping and stayed in a yurt? This is not roughin it at all! It was cold till they turned on the generator and heated the place. This is inside the Yurt!
Darin has opted out of the snow cave camping trip coming up soon. Well have to see about that. He maybe the scout master one day and will need that wonderful experience. Travis and Ty are Deacons. Travis will be in with Darin in April. It would not have been bad if the snow wasn't 2 feet deep and everytime they stepped they fell through so it was tough going. On the way in they all walked and pushed sleds with their gear. On the way out they used Snowmobiles!! SMART!!

Larissa is counting down the days till she will have her REAL drivers license. 34 days! OH...help me!!! She thinks that she will be able to take my car to school! FAT CHANCE!@!!!

Jenessa is just applying like crazy for scholarships and is getting excited to go to college. It looks like she has narrowed her choices down to BYU (Provo), Utah State (Logan), or Weber State (Ogden). So many choices to make.

Travis, Ty, Phil and Nate are obsessed with a game called Dark Orbit that is on the internet. They would play it 24/7 if I let them. It is funny to see that Nathan @ 7 is not far behind Travis @ 13 when it comes to the computer. They like this game cause they can play with their cousins....all linked in from their homes. Computers are amazing!! It is a beautiful clear day today! Travis asked when we could move somewhere that didn't have snow. It has been snowing alot but we really need it. We hope that you are all well. We think of you often. Wish you were all close by! Looking forward to being closer to the Fife's!! The kids sure love to get together. Larissa is are obsessed with the twins. I know we will be taking trips to SLC alot now! It will be fun to see everyone for Dallas' wedding. Will list the information just as soon as we get it!!! Have a great day!

Kyles home soon/Sadie, Capri and Annika!!

It is hard to believe that we are in the middle of January already. It just seems like we were getting ready for Thanksgiving. Kyle will be coming home in 2 days from his mission!! We are all excited to see him. He has served a great mission. I am sure Mike and Laurie can't believe that they are through another phase of life (Mikes been through many phases that we really can't mention here!!!) No more missionaries....Unless Rach decides to go. So maybe one more! Seems like yesterday we were excited that Scott received his call to Japan......

It has been alot of fun seeing Jason and Lynee's twins grow up so fast. Soon to be two. Sadie (Top) and Capri. And of course we can not forget BIG SISTER Annika.

Jenessa's Head Shot and More Snow!!

Jenessa is a Senior. For audition purposes and scholarships she has to have a head shot. She is very excited for college!! I am happy that she is so driven to find scholarships and money to get her through school. She doesn't want to work.......don't we all feel that way. I hope for her sake and ours that she does it!!! More snow yesterday and today in Midway!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Wow it is 2009. It is 5:00 pm on January 1st.....how are you doing with your new years resolutions so far.

We have had a super relaxing day today. Only a few more days and the kids are back in school. It has been alot of fun having them home all the time. Never a dull moment! We went to the first annual kid/adult party at Zermatt and it was alot of fun. They had face painting and lots of food, desert, dancing, musical chairs, and more. I would say it was a success! Lot of people attended. I liked the fact that the ball drops at 10:00pm in New York.....we watched that on BIG screens and then everyone with small children cleared out. They had the party and fun and didn't have to stay up till 12:00am. I wish that would have been me. The girls were out late last night. They went to a dance and then over to the Scotts (Youngmens Pres) for breakfast at 1:00 am. Then off to Grandma K's to party more!!! I really couldn't relax till I knew they were off the roads for the night.

We are looking forward to a super new year. I am sure it will be interesting. Darin's job at Zermatt is going well. Things are slowing down but not too much. Jenessa and Larissa are both working up there as well.

Mom and I had fun the day after Christmas creating a blog for her. I think she enjoyed it. It is fun to hear how people are doing and this seems to be a good way. I don't know about you but I have not received a letter in years and I don't know that I could write a letter anymore without my hand cramping. Go check it out at http://www.pkohlerfam.blogspot.com/. I am sure you will find it a big suprise to see pink!!! Lisa is doing well. She is up and about a little. I am happy to see her taking her time and not trying to do too much too soon. Her blog is http://www.christenfam.blogspot.com/. If you would like an invite to see her blog let me know. Her's is private but we haven't made moms private yet.

We had a great Christmas dinner at the shelter on Saturday with the Family. Mick and Kim did a great job!! Very Festive. We missed those that weren't there.

Larissa is driving!! Clear the roadways!! She will be 16 in March. We were in the car listening to a song on the radio about a dad that had a gun and told the boy taking his daughter out that he would be there cleaning it till they got home. Larissa laughed and said...."does dad have a gun?"

This picture shows one of the few accidents that Nessa has had that wasn't her fault!

Ty was ordained to a Deacon last Sunday (Dec 28th) by Darin and passed for the first time. He is just too little still! I remember when Travis was so small, he has had a growth spurt the last 6 months. I asked Ty if he was nervous and he said no way!!

On Tuesday we discovered a leak coming from the roof so the kids and I got out (Darin was at work of course!) on the roof and cleared away tons and tons and tons of snow!! I think Phil and Nate jumped off the roof at least 20 times each. Needless to say they didn't get alot of snow cleared. After about 3 hours we called in reinforcements....Nessa's "boy Friends" and they come over and helped her finish. WOW!!! BIG JOB!! SHE HAS THE SUNBURN TO SHOW FOR IT! Now it won't be so difficult when we have the next snow storm. We found the leak and repaired it. Thanks goodness it was an easy fix!

We hope that you are all well and have a super New Year!! Let us know how you are doing!!?

Travis - Easter Week!!!!
